Photo Essay

My idea for my photo essay was to go to my fathers place on the wisconsin river. It is a really nice place to go. There is a sandstone bluff and I thought it was a very interesting place. It is amazing to stand in front of this wall and to think how so many other people have stood in the same spot looking at the same wall as me. It is like a wall of history that stands showing a list of it's visitors. I felt that it was something that was probably unseen by most but was something that people should really see. My goal was to show the sections and inscriptions that stood out the most.

My document project

After thinking about what is some thing a person sees everyday and doesn't give much thought to, I have decided I will document my bedroom. I plan on taking picture of my room from about the same angle twice a day, once in the morning after waking up and once at night before going to bed. I don't think my bedroom changes too much from day to day and want to see if I am right, or if I will be surprised in the results. I will do this for two weeks and in the end I will overlay the images and highlight the main changes, if there are any. I will also look at which changes more, the night time photos or the morning photos.

Let me know what you think :)

My best light pic

I was walking my dog, and he stopped to look around and I took this pic because I thought he looked cute and when I realized that the sun was reflecting on the water near him it seemed to add a really nice effect.

I picked this photo as my best and I felt that it fell into the frame category. I think that by having the reflecting sun in the picture with my dog made it more interesting. If I had not included both within the frame I don't think it would have had the same feeling to it.

I really like how it turned out and I felt that both the objects in the frame complimented each other very well. I don't think anything added or taken out would make the picture any better.
